The God Cycle

Many years ago I had an idea for how it all fits together. Modern cosmology intersecting with religion, Gods, demons, and unicorns co-existing among the stars. It was the kind of thing I just couldn't seem to shake, so one faithful afternoon I just sat down and began to write... and I haven't stopped since.

The gods are locked in a bloody embrace of incompatible ideologies searing a swath of destruction through human civilization as though fueled by pain and worship in equal measure. For ages, this zero-sum game has been intensified by dogmas that are not merely conflicting, but mutually exclusive.

What on earth are the gods doing?

Or perhaps more accurately…

What are the gods doing on earth?

Welcome, to The God Cycle.

CATCHING SPIDERS

Something ancient and deadly has come to Paris—and wouldn’t you know, it happens to love jazz.

Simón, a former piano prodigy turned addict, escaped an affectionless childhood to eke out a living by slinging drinks in the best jazz club in Paris, his existence made tolerable by the wonderful music that surrounds him.

His drug-dazed mind is thankful for the programmed alarms in his smartwatch. Without those he would not just be consistently late for work—he would probably forget to show up at all. He is less pleased the day his watch starts commenting on other aspects of his life. He especially dislikes when it tells him he is going to die.

This short story is set between book two and three of The God Cycle trilogy, but it can be read before or after (no spoilers, just some really cool clues and context).

THE GOD CYCLE - BOOK 1

Remembering Demons

A gritty, mind-warping blend of cosmic horror and sci-fantasy noir—perfect for fans of N.K. Jemisin, Tamsyn Muir, and Brian Evenson.

THIS IS HOW THE GOD CYCLE BEGINS... AND ENDS.

WITH DARYL, who wakes with no memory in a crumbling asylum where darkness strains against the mirrors reflecting a past he cannot face.
WITH SUSAN, his therapist—whose quiet influence might be his only hope… or his undoing.
WITH WERNER, a former physicist who speaks of patterns, infinite worlds, and things best left alone.
AND WITH HUBBLE, an invisible gnome who appears when reality cracks—usually with his pet chicken.

This is his reckoning—haunted by a small girl with terrible eyes, Daryl can no longer outrun the noose of a past that will choke the life from him even as it tears him apart.

Either the world is broken, or he is.
The truth may lie just beyond the glass.

THE GOD CYCLE - BOOK 2

Fighting Angels

THIS IS HOW THE GOD CYCLE TWISTS—AND BURNS…

DARYL is fractured and fading—haunted by splintered identities, stolen power, and a reckoning he cannot possibly survive.

To face the archangel Gabriel, he must somehow reject the demon Andariel’s deal and plunge into the shadowed corridors of his own mind, where Jae’el waits—the violent, god-touched persona born of trauma and locked in memory. But Gabriel is no mere enemy. He is the last true zealot of a divine order shattered by man, and tearing him down could unchain something older… and even more merciless.

SUSAN, his former therapist, is unraveling at the edges of myth and madness. As her reality fractures, she must confront the rift left inside her by Andariel and the monsters that now fill that void. The world she once trusted is slipping—and Daryl may be the thread that unravels it all. To help him, she’ll have to risk everything… even guiding him toward a power never meant for mortal hands.

One hunts vengeance with all he has left. The other fears it may cost him what little remains. With the help of former allies, they’re chasing a reckoning—but some victories come too late to matter.
